Areas of Expertise

EXPERT WITNESS TESTIMONY:
Regardless of the magnitude or circumstances of the case, Mr. Lewis’s commitment to quality and integrity is always maintained.  His analysis and conclusions are based on established scientific and technical procedures and the indisputable laws of classical physics.

OPPOSING TESTIMONY CRITIQUED:
Accident investigation and reconstruction analysis by police or individuals not sufficiently knowledgeable in specific relevant areas can be examined.  Opinions or determinations made on incomplete or inconclusive bases can be evaluated, and can sometimes simply be the result of budgetary constraints.

WITNESS EVALUATION:
Potential opposing witnesses can be evaluated for vantage point, initial visual and audio awareness, and
faulty assumptions of collision causation.

EVENT DATA RECORDERS:
These computer based data recording devices being installed in newly manufactured vehicles are a giant step toward obtaining accurate, impartial, documented evidence for different types of court proceedings. They validate field collision data, determine crash causation and fraud in passenger and commercial vehicle crashes.

LOW SPEED ACCIDENTS:
Significant personal injury can often result from low speed collisions. Factors such as isolator restitution, Delta-V, occupant kinematics, seat position, seat bounce, headrest position, and "lax" neck muscles are routinely evaluated.

TRAFFIC SIGNAL CHANGE INTERVALS:
Guidelines for the period of time in a traffic signal cycle between the green, yellow, and red intervals can be evaluated.

REACTION TIME:
The detection of an object or condition in the driver's field of view, the mental identification of this hazard, the decision making process, and a physical response, can be a significant contributing factor in accident causation.

BIOMECHANICS OF OCCUPANTS:
The occupants' after initial impact motion within a vehicle, interior contact points, and the mechanisms of injury causation are basic and predictable.
